what does burlesque/erotic movement mean to you?: Classically trained in ballet and modern, Copper Penny has been using movement as art for over 30 years. Since 2008 Copper has played with expressing her sensual, playful, kinky, and fierce side through the art of burlesque. They have performed with many Austin burlesque productions including Malum Malus, Jammie Jam, Galactic Salon, Velvet Nox, the Wandering Review, Geekgasm, Spanksgiving and the Secret Soiree. Prior to moving back to Austin they performed in New Mexico with burlesque troupe Burlesque Noir on various stages including Boston Burlesque Festival, Southwest Burlesque Showcase and the Texas Burlesque Festival. When not slinking around dance studios and burlesque stages Copper enjoys making puppets, sewing, crafting, and skipping around this world with child-like wonder and adult-like lust.
what attracted you to being a part of our Troupe?: After a hiatus in burlesque I have returned to the stage with a few solo acts. But I miss the connection, inspiration, and companionship that comes with performing with a burlesque troupe. I started my burlesque career with a troupe and the group of humans I shared these experiences with were a huge part as to why I fell in love with burlesque. I love to be able to perform with a group again and share our creativity together. I am very attracted to ErotiQueer specifically because I love to surround myself with my queer community and draw inspiration from and celebrate this part of myself.
